Research and Extension: PRODEMA acting in the society - Actions in Chapada Diamantina, BA
Masters Project in Chapada Diamantina, state of Bahia, involves training of local tour guides
Between July 13 and 14, 2017, Prodema was developing extension activities in Chapada Diamantina, Bahia, demonstrating the importance of taking the University to the communities and society groups by administrating an ecotourism mini-course for local guides. The ecotourism mini-course has complemented the training of local professionals, so that the regional tourism could indeed be considered as ecotourism. The mini-course was based on tools such as use of senses for the environmental perception and interpretation.
This is one of the results of student Tatiane Evaristo da Silva´s Masters project, guided by Prof. Dr. Maria Cristina Basílio Crispim. The project is titled "Ecological Tourism and Local Development: 'foreign' end native ventures in Vale do Capão, Chapada Diamantina, BA".
